I mentioned it during Summer Series, that getting you an improved workpapers solution was a top priority for Diya and myself, and I know we at Xero have been saying this for years – that’s why I’m very excited to share more details with you about our new and reimagined workpapers solution! Xero is partnering with BGL Corporate Solutions, a leading compliance management and AI-powered paper-to-data software provider to develop a new, integrated workpapers solution, exclusively for our Xero accounting and bookkeeping partners.

This isn’t about incremental tweaks to our existing solution; it’s about fundamentally improving how you manage the end-to-end workflows in your practice. We know the frustration that can come from using workarounds to our current solution, juggling disparate systems to make it work. 

Imagine seamlessly managing, reviewing, and completing your bookkeeping, workpapers and tax all in one place.

What does this mean for your practice?

  • One source of truth from Xero: By automating data flows and the direct import of client bookkeeping data from Xero into a working trial balance, we will significantly reduce and in most cases eliminate the need for manual data entry. This means less tedious work leading to faster review and finalisation of client accounts, tax returns, and financial statements.  
  • Connecting every step of the compliance journey: The solution will integrate directly with your existing Xero tools at every step of the compliance process. This connectivity streamlines the entire process – from your clients Xero subscription, to reporting, Xero Tax, and your practice client records and staff permissions. 
  • Enhanced collaboration: You will be able to easily assign and review workpapers within your practice, approve and make adjustments and collect information from clients faster.

This partnership brings together Xero’s strength in accounting and tax with BGL’s deep expertise in compliance. BGL has been a valued Xero ecosystem app partner since 2018. Their track record in delivering world class solutions like CAS 360 and Simple Fund 360 for self managed superfund workpapers and compliance makes them the ideal partner to develop a solution that caters to the diverse needs of practices of all sizes.  

Looking ahead

We believe this new workpapers solution will empower practices to streamline operations, improve accuracy, and ultimately, free up your time to focus on the things you really care about whether that’s improving efficiencies, growing your practice, or better servicing your clients.  

We’re looking forward to bringing this solution to our Australian partners first in the coming months, starting with an early access program for feedback before the initial product launch later this year.
