It’s been a massive start to 2025! In February, we shared enhancements we’ve made to invoicing. We also heard your feedback, and so now you can automatically prepare partnership annual accounts and tax returns using Xero data and seamlessly file them with HMRC (read more in the previous edition of What’s New). Check out more in our quarterly wrap video below.
This month, we’re thrilled to unveil more exciting enhancements with you. We’ve been listening to your feedback and working hard to deliver updates that address some of the most popular Xero product ideas. Whether you’re looking to streamline payments, improve how you manage fixed assets, or gain deeper insights into your business performance, there’s something for everyone in this month’s summary!

] Global: Attach file now available in new fixed assets
You can now experience a cleaner, more accessible and responsive interface for managing fixed assets in Xero. This updated design includes all the trusted features and functionality you’re used to plus you gain the ability to attach files to your fixed asset records.
The new fixed assets interface and experience is the default for all regions except Australia which still uses classic fixed assets. Australian organisations can choose to use the new fixed asset experience via the banner at the top of the fixed assets page as long as they don’t use tax pooling.

] Global: Gain a clearer view of your accounts with the new reporting update
Xero has a new reporting feature that gives you a more complete picture of your financial performance. You now have the option to include accounts with zero balances or where there’s been no activity in your reports, making it easier to confirm that all active accounts are included and to consolidate accounts outside of Xero.
This feature is particularly useful if you export data to Excel spreadsheets as it allows macros to work more seamlessly. It addresses a long-standing request from our customers and provides greater flexibility and control over your reporting.
You can access the option to include or exclude accounts with zero balance or activity feature via the ‘More’ button. The option is easy to toggle on and off. You can also set it as the default within your reporting preferences.

] US: Get paid faster with ACH debit
Good news! You can now offer even more payment options to your customers with ACH debit, a new payment method by Stripe. ACH debit allows you to accept direct bank payments on invoices, without costly card fees. Your customer can quickly authorize a one-time payment to be withdrawn from their bank account for the total invoice amount, all without leaving the invoice. This gives your customers more flexibility and helps you get paid faster.
US: Visualise your financial performance in new ways with Analytics powered by Syft
Xero has acquired Syft, a leading reporting and analytics platform, and we’re bringing its powerful insights directly to you. With Analytics powered by Syft, you can easily visualize your business performance, including profitability, profit and loss, and balance sheet accounts.
This new feature is starting in early access rolling out to qualifying Established plan customers in the US to start. Analytics powered by Syft gives them the tools they need to make better-informed business decisions and drive future growth and stability, this is just the start of the our insights journey with more functionality and regions coming soon. Get ready to see your business in a whole new light!

US: Keep track of your inventory with history and notes in Inventory Plus
We’ve added history and notes to Inventory Plus to give you a better view of your inventory. You can now see who made adjustments, when they were made, and what changes were made. This helps you track your inventory asset value and understand how adjustments affect your overall inventory.
UK: Avoid payroll discrepancies with HMRC using new employee onboarding guidance
It’s now easier to ensure your payroll records in Xero match your HMRC submissions. We’ve improved the employee onboarding process with additional guidance and support, helping you enter the correct information in the right place. This includes clearer instructions for the employee number field to help ensure that your employee numbers are consistent throughout Xero and aligned with HMRC guidelines. We’re committed to making managing payroll as seamless and accurate as possible so you can have confidence that your submissions are correct.
These are just some of the updates that have rolled out in Xero this month. You can check out the February edition here, and for a full list of what’s new this March, check out the release notes in Xero Central.
